Datuk Capt. Zanif Hashim, age 61, holds a Master Foreign Going Certificate of Competency – Class 1. He is a former seafarer for merchant ships and has 13 years of sea experience with MISC Berhad from 1979 to 1993. He had served various types and size of vessels trading worldwide. 

He started shore based career in insurance dealing with claims handling activities at Spica Services Sdn Bhd in 1993 as Claim Manager until 2005. During his 12 years tenure, he had led and developed the Malaysia office into a respectable P&I Club Correspondents in Southeast Asia.

He has presented claim handling, loss prevention and papers on P&I, TT Club, ITIC and pollution at workshops and seminars to the shipping fraternity. Thereafter, he joined TAG Marine as a business partner and shareholder.

Currently, he is designated as the Executive Director and Board of Director of TAG Marine and TAG Logistics Management Sdn. Bhd. He is involved in consultancy and advisory services in various marine projects and activities. Together with his partner, they proliferate the creation and development of KLIP alternative concept in providing the ship-to-ship liquid cargo transfer operation services.

He is an award winner of “Seaport Management” paper in CIT qualification exam and member of CIT and IKMAL. He is also the ex-Treasurer of ALAM Alumni and active leading member of the association. He poses strong management skills particularly on technical, marine, insurance and legal aspects, gained from his past experience in handling liability claim cases plus his presence as prominent player in local shipping and marine industry.
