Encik Shaik Taufik, age 53, joined KLIP as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) since January 2018. Prior to that, he was a Project Consultant in few infrastructure projects, both local and in overseas. His main duties are to oversee financial management of KLIP including but not limited to operational and corporate matters involving structuring and fund-raising activities.
He served as Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President (SVP) of Malaysia Venture Capital Management Bhd (MAVCAP) a wholly-owned subsidiary of MOF Inc for seven (7) years prior to being Project Consultant. Encik Shaik Taufik brought with him a wealth of 30 years of cumulative experience in financial services industry specialised in corporate finance, banking, venture capital and private equity investment. He served as corporate counsel to various nominee companies including listed companies, Government-Linked Companies (GLCs) and agencies. He had been appointed as nominee director in diversified sectors of invested and fund management companies locally, as well as in ASEAN countries, China, Korea, Japan and UK.
Shaik Taufik oversaw thirteen (13) Investment Funds in Malaysia and overseas with total cumulative of RM1 billion of fund size. He was a corporate advisor to a number of hallmark projects in Malaysia and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). He had also served actively in Malaysia Venture Capital & Private Equity Association (MVCA) for 11 years, whereby his last position was as Vice Chairman of MVCA for 2010/2011 and various committee under Government Agencies, i.e. Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) and Ministry of Finance (MOF). He possesses strong networking with GLCs, Government Agencies, Public Limited Companies (PLCs) and Fund Managers with good regional network.
